i posted this question a while back and received alot of really good answers that really worked for me. thanx to those who contributed. but there was a person that mentioned dishwasher liquid or something to that effect was really good for whites. my question is what brand is best and how much would i use in a load of whites?

If you really want to get them white, get yourself a bottle of Listerine Whitening Mouthwash…. no kidding….
Wash them with this instead of soap… It really works!

Use a solution of bicarbonate of soda to prewash, then use your regular wash powder/liquid, it will being everything up lovely

OK, I don’t know if it was me,but This one I have given out a few times.
To get dingy clothing whiter than white, try the never fail trick, For cotton, pour one gallon of hot water into a plastic wastebasket(enamel or stainless steel containers are acceptable but not repeat not aluminum) and add 1/2 cup of automatic dish washing compound (I use powdered cascade) I don’t think it matters.
and 1/4th cup of bleach,stirring well.
Let the clothes soak for thirty minutes then wash as usual. Use one Half cup of white vinegar in the rinse water. the garments come out snowy white every time,

I know that Dawn is great for whites but as far as a load of white i really dont know but another thing that is really good on stains is pinesole. it works wonders put it in an old spray bottle and spray prewash with it and the stains will be out

Sometimes the issue may be protein build up in the fabric. This cannot be removed by soaps.
Soak the garment in clear vinegar, for an hour or so. Then wash with normal detergent and softner.
